Geary Zenosis Institute of Hypnotherapy Arts Association (GIHAA)
Standard of Practice for Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists (CCHt)
The Geary Zenosis Institute of Hypnotherapy Arts Association (GIHAA) holds as its primary tenet that the subconscious mind of every human being is sovereign territory. No practitioner, instructor, or student shall ever use hypnotic suggestion to manipulate, deceive, coerce, or override a client's autonomous will.
Every clinical suggestion, metaphor, and post-hypnotic anchor must serve the client's stated positive wellness goals. The practitioner must never induce trance for exploitative or non-consensual entertainment purposes.
GIHA practitioners operate as non-medical, behavioral hypnotherapists. We do not diagnose psychiatric pathology or prescribe medication. When working with medical conditions (chronic pain, addiction, surgery preparation), written medical referral or coordination is mandatory.
Every client must undergo formal suggestibility assessment (Kappas E&P Framework) prior to deep hypnotic intervention. Practitioners must tailor language accordingly: direct literal suggestion for Physicals, and indirect permissive metaphor for Emotionals.
Active members of GIHAA must complete 24 hours of continuing clinical education every two years, maintain professional liability insurance, and uphold the good name of the healing arts.
